Nick Johnson, Psy.D.
Dr. Nick Johnson grew up in Providence and got his Doctor of Psychology degree at William James College near Boston. His therapeutic style is flexible and tailored to the client’s specific needs, but is always open and nonjudgmental. Nick’s work is often cognitive-behavioral in orientation, using the connections between thoughts, feelings and actions to help clients manage emotional chaos. He also uses narrative therapy, focusing on how clients tell their stories and helping them notice biases. He works to give clients a solid, scientific understanding of their disorders and a deeper understanding of themselves. In couples therapy, Nick’s focus is on learning effective communication so that couples can work through their problems together.
