Therapy occurs in 50 minute sessions, weekly, biweekly, or in whatever frequency you decide is most helpful. Therapy must be tailored to you and to a specific disorder, but can include: coping skills like relaxation and distress tolerance, challenging painful or self-destructive thoughts, gaining the perspective necessary to make realistic choices, facing feared stimuli, finding self-compassion, communication skills and more.
