Stephanie Burnham, LiCSW

Stephanie earned her undergraduate degree in Human Development and Family Sciences from Syracuse University. She earned her Master’s degree in Social Work from Simmons University. Stephanie is a licensed clinical social worker with previous experience working in community mental health centers, residential treatment centers, and as a group therapist for male sex offenders.

Stephanie believes in the importance of collaboration and communication between the therapist and the client. Her approach is compassionate, supportive, and nonjudgmental. Stephanie uses a client-centered approach to tailor therapy to each client and their specific needs in treatment. Additionally, Stephanie assists clients in learning skills to manage life stressors, relationships, and emotional distress using techniques from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) and cognitive processing therapy (CPT).

Stephanie works with clients experiencing a wide variety of challenges, but areas of particular interest include:

  • LGBTQIA+ individuals

  • Life transitions

  • Anxiety disorders

  • PTSD/trauma

  • Mood disorders

  • Depression

  • ADHD

  • Formerly incarcerated
